Narrative description of Project: : The major objective of this ToT was to strengthen the ability of the youth from vulnerable communities to actively engage and advocate with the local government in mainstreaming on laws, programs, projects, and policies that address climate change and disaster risk reduction
Description of actual services provided in the assignment: The following services were provided:
- Enhanced the capacity of youths regarding basic concepts and terms in relation to climate change and disaster risk reduction/management and the need and method for integrating the adaptation into local development plan.
- Enhanced the knowledge on concepts and framework for climatic hazard. and vulnerability along with understanding and applying the tools for community-based vulnerability assessment, risk assessment and identifying the priorities for adaptation with integration of community based-disaster risk reduction
- Oriented concept and approaches of promotion of climate resilient technologies and practices with mitigation and adaptation approach.
- Enhanced participants' abilities to facilitate the participatory local development and adaptation planning and awareness advocacy campaign/event based on the CCA and DRR.
- Oriented youth on community-based adaptation in regards to cope with climate change and induced disaster with existing programs and policies.
