Narrative description of Project: : The main objective of the project was to collect bio-physical and socio-cultural information of the Mid-Marsyangdi watershed area, prioritize sub-watersheds based on the collected information, and prepare a watershed management plan of a highly critical sub-watershed for its sustainable management. In addition, study aimed to prepare

 Description of actual services provided in the assignment: The following services were provided:

  1. Identified the sub-watershed area and prioritized them in accordance to the urgency,
  2. Prepared profile which included basic social, economic, climate, hydrology, geological and biological/physical data within the watershed area,
  3. Monitored the Land Use Land Cover Change over time within watershed area, identification, and restoration of damaged land,
  4. Defined the effects of various infrastructural development and hydropower plant to the watershed area,
  5. Identified and locating the various water sources,
  6. Defined the cultural, historical, and environmental significance of the area,
  7. Located the area where natural calamities have occurred in present and past and preparing for future,
  8. Analyzed the natural and man-made stresses to the watershed area,
  9. Prepared a watershed management plant of the most critical sub-watershed (i.e. Beshishahar)
  10. Recommended the possible solution to different challenges and obstacles faced during the conservation and management activities.
